Is it supposed to be like a dock? I’m using Nova Launcher and then I found the Edge Panel and it is a bit much but for those who use the default launcher is that the idea?

Edge Panels are a samsung only thing, but I use a similar app on my phone.

I use it less as a dock and more as a way to access stuff I want to quickly be able to go in and out of.

For example, the 2fa app I use auto closes when I copy something to the clipboard, so I just swipe into the app, copy it, and I'm back where I was.

Its also great for apps I don't use frequently enough to want on my home screen, but when I do need them I don't want to hunt around for them

Thanks. Why I haven't thought about putting my 2fa and password manger in there I don't know.

Aegis, its not on by default, but its recently customizeable, so play around with the settings

I meant the app similar to edge panels.

Oh, sorry, it's called "Panels" app store says it has ads, but I just denied it network access and I've never seen one.

I assume you're talking about the one found in samsung phones. It's basically like a launcher with shortcuts to apps you can access from any screen without having to go back to home or the app tray. Personally I found it to be too much also, not very customizable and inefficient use of space with only a few apps showing up there. It can be disabled in settings.

I like the idea though. I use the one handed+ module in goodlock where I can set another more compact app launcher when I diagonally swipe down from anywhere along the right edge screen. I have other shortcuts set to other gestures. It's handy for multitasking.

I use Lucid Launcher which has an "edge". I use it for my Fav apps and keep my home screen empty.

I personally love it.
