That is a tiny little cartridge box. Did they only carry 30 shots?

The standard issue .58 caliber boxes were meant to carry 40 rounds. Here is an example of a box for sale.

I do my Napoleonic reenactment, and we also carry 60, but the box is a fair bit bigger. That might be just a scaling issue (not a lot of short female soldiers back then)

I think if you're carrying 60 rounds compared to the U.S. Civil War's 40, naturally your boxes will be bigger.

I think the drawing's scale is about right.

True about the number, I meant a scaling issue in that I'm smaller, so the box will look relatively bigger on me.
