the last patch might have been in 2016 but it still works great. it astonishes me why google decided to go away from the nexus brand when they were some of the best devices google had.

also those google play music and google+ icons. bring them back. </3

That back texturing too. I still remember how it felt when I first took it out of the box.

I remember all the issues I had with my nexus ~~5P~~ 6P. I had to RMA it 3 times and then it failed again and Google claimed my warranty expired. Thankfully I got a nice check from a class action

But I still remember fondly my Nexus One and Nexus S

wasnt that the 6p? i remember that was the one by huawei and there were all the reports of bricking (indeed i have one in my drawer that is a paperweight)

The 6p was amazing but got hit but a Qualcomm chip set flaw that also screwed a large chunk of Samsung and some others... The CPU connections for the big cores would break after a time under heat.

Hit 3 of mine. I got a full refund on one (barely) and the others were refurbished and I expected the issue.

That flaw aside it was the best device I'd had up until sudden death.

The Nexus line was awesome in general. 7 and 6p were tops.

Yes, it was the 6P, I got confused by the naming

Another friend has the 5X and that one also had a lot of issues

Was yours the first or second gen?

I booted up my first gen a couple months back and it was painfully slow. Not just slow in comparison to a modern device, just unusably slow.

i believe its second since it has android 6 and a rear camera but it was so long ago

I have the first gen, and it has been virtually unusable for almost a decade now. From what I remember, Google had reached the $199 MSRP by using incredibly cheap storage that was prone to failure after only a few years. Installing a custom ROM is obviously better than stock nowadays, but no software can fix the abysmal storage speed.

I think I had a lightweight ROM on it, but it's not worth investigating at this point.

I had both, and yeah 2nd Gen was where the magic was.

That reminds me, I have one somewhere! Lol I'll try charging it then hopefully it boots up!
