We now return you to your regularly scheduled Megathread!

Today is July 17th and it's the third day of the Republican National Convention where Donald J. Trump will be officially nominated as the Republican candidate for President of the United States.

The convention runs Mon-Thur, you can see the calendar of events here:

https://gopconvention2024.com/master-calendar/

The Day 1 Megathread can be found here!

Day 2:

https://lemmy.world/post/17614999

Typically, day 3 of the convention is where things really get interesting, but day 1 ALREADY saw the actual nomination vote of Donald J. Trump, the announcement of his running mate, J.D. Vance, and the appearance of an unusually somber, almost SAD looking Trump on the show floor.

Day 2 saw an... interesting speech from Marjorie Taylor Greene.

Generally, the final 2 days of the convention will see a speech from the Vice Presidential candidate today, followed by Trump tomorrow. It will be interesting to see where they go with this!
