Apparently gen z follow YouTubers and know drama/creators by name

One of them was really shocked that I don’t care to follow any and just search for the topic I want and pick whatever (separately I avoid videos with high viewcount or sponsors because then they are doing it for money not as a hobby)

There’s other things like they don’t love the song Smooth and play Minecraft even though they aren’t 9 anymore

Born in 1980, modded Minecraft is still a great game.

I know a few YTers by name (a few of the ones I subscribe to), but I tend to avoid "drama" and haven't been interested in the most popular YT content since Gangdam Style.

I have a lot of ID cards for various credentials, memberships, and store discounts, but I'm only 25, am I just behind the times???

You can just take pictures of the barcode for most of that stuff.

I'm 42 and I have some cash wrapped around a few cards held together with a rubber band lol it works better than any wallet I've ever owned

I just throw my cards in my pocket lmao

Contemporary generational labels are as arbitrary as their boundaries, most of us just want to belong so we apply them to ourselves and say we must be X and they are Y, but you're just as likely describing trends people from any generational category may follow than insight into actual characteristics of the group.

I'm one of the younger millennials (I think?).

I never carry cash unless I have to (for some reason dependent on where I'm going). I primarily use my phone to make payments, and I don't have a traditional wallet, but I do have a slim card-holder that carries my debit card, driving licence and one or two other important cards.

Take that for what you will, I guess!

Idk As a gen z every other gen z I know has a wallet

[–] fatalicus 4 points 1 week ago

Do cardholders count for this? Because here everyone has at least that, even gen Z.

Much of that is because payment with phones haven't really taken on for physical payments, since Apple and Google pay don't support our payment system, Bankaxept, yet.

There is support on the way though, so this will likely change.
