"mum what happened to Europe in 2023?"

[–] [email protected] 60 points 1 year ago

in North Africa they had 50 °C at the fucking sea. All the "you keep the southern African climate migrants in check for us" agreements the EU made, will not be worth much soon, when the people from Tunesia, Morocco and Algeria have to flee themselves from the heat.

And it's only going to get worse.

[–] Skullgrid 36 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah. Heatwave my ass, this is climate change in action.

[–] [email protected] 12 points 1 year ago

Meanwhile South Africa has received snow for the first time in decades

[–] [email protected] 15 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Well only due to a short cold wave. Now they have 16-30°C in Winter which is 1-7°C above the usual temperatures for this time of the year. https://www.ventusky.com/?p=-19.8;24.3;3&l=temperature-anomaly-2m

I will take the rainy summer with 17°C we've had in Sweden this week over the heatwave anytime!

Swiss here, can confirm hiking, but only in the mountains, it's too hot elsewhere.

But I'm in Scotland right now, and it's definitely pints with the lads here as usual. To he fair, their summer is also very average, mostly cool and it's looking like it could be raining any moment now 24/7.

Wot heatwave m8. Dont need a bo'ul o wu'er ere

[–] riodoro1 9 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I’m enjoying the heat and sun but i don’t want to be working through it. Let me sit outside all the time.

[–] [email protected] 31 points 1 year ago

The heat is fine if you are rich, got a private pool and an air conditioned office. This is also why the rich don't care about climate change. Climate change is part of the class struggle.

[–] IverCoder 8 points 1 year ago
