The Season 3 story details Robert Kirkman revealed to Variety may not surprise fans of the Invincible comics. Much of what he discussed comes specifically from Invincible #50.

I haven't caught up with season 2 yet, but I have read the comics multiple times.

There are some slow sections, but it works once you get into things a bit more. Kirkman writes with long range goals and sustainable pacing in mind. It does miss the mark sometimes and drag a little, just never for very long.
