MODERATORS

[email protected] doesn't have much traction but I'm trying to change that and there are a good amount of subscribers. Unfortunately the only mod seems to have created the community, made one post, and not returned in the ten months since. I've messaged them but I'm not hopeful they'll ever come back to Lemmy to see it.

I understand the concerns over "power" mods. While I do mod a few communities already only a few get any real engagement and I try to be pretty hands off with them, only removing obvious spam and trolling.

Thank you for your consideration.

I recommend making an account on the instance of the community you're moderating as owner due to wierd federation effects on moderation actions.

I haven't had any issues so far. Besides, someone else already claimed @[email protected]

No one has problems with not backing up their data until they find themselves in a position where backing up their data could have saved a lot of grief.

I made you the mod. The prior mod (@[email protected]) has been inactive for months.

As the other user mentioned, I suggest using a lemmy.world account for moderating lemmy.world communities. When using an account on a remote instance you do not receive the reports from that community.

Thank you. I can make an account here but I'm not sure that's actually the case anymore. I've received reports for communities from instances before. I'll look into it.
