I recently took over a handful of unmoderated communities and would like to request another: [email protected]

I messaged the mod, but did not get a reply. I don't see any account activity in the past 2 months either. I'd like to shape the community to be about art in any medium, whether that be sharing art or posting news about art.

This reminds me of the issue of power mods

Power mods remove democracy since they control large swarths of communities and their biases get involved

I have never deleted a post or banned a user. The communities I mod are tiny. Just trying to revitalize some smaller communities. Also, of the couple “power mods” I know on Lemmy, they tend to be among the most fair mods (shout out to @[email protected] as an example) . It’s the random ass rogue ones who create some community lining up with their specific interests who then want to control all the discussion that do weird stuff.
