The Lyrics Game

Anybody can post a challenge.

The rules of the game are simple, take any song you like from any genre you want, put the lyrics through any AI [you may weight lyrics as the AI allows] that you want and post the resulting image here under the post title Name That Song [GENRE]. After 48-72 Hours or if the answer is guessed sooner, edit the post's title to [Solved][Genre] and put the song title and artist (and optionally any highlighted lyrics) in a spoiler tag in the body of the post.

I noticed before that some of the entries got downvoted, and I thought it must be people thinking the image doesn't fit the song (and even that doesn't seem fair given the rules), but I'm seeing that some of these are downvoted even before we know what song it is. So I'm curious, what makes people see an entry and downvote it?

Welllll, it's partly people using the all feed, and it's partly some disgruntled people from ai image communities that object to the cross posting.

I have an irl friend that was down voting all of philo's posts until I gave him a blast of shit about it after he ranted about the "spamming". It isn't spam, and it's perfectly okay by the rules of the other communities, but assholes are going to asshole.

The rest may just be idiots, I can't be sure. But every post here is on topic, so it's a total dick move to down vote here.

Yeah I see some people flag it as spam, I just resolve the reports and ignore them.

Thanks to our new mod and the post they made over on lemmy world new communities, I am only gonna post on that other AI community once or twice a day (and I do have their mods permission). He even made a post there saying my posts are not spam so STOP reporting them but as you say.....assholes are gonna asshole.

Yeah, maybe. I was thinking it might be people sorting by new and not getting the point of the game - downvoting when the image is crappy (like multiple arms or whatever).

In a community called The Lyrics GAME it's really silly to be here if you don't understand this is a game. Lots of downvoting are because of what Rhyno said and also because some users don't agree with some images.

People are so ineffective, that they'd rather downvote over and over again when browsing All, instead of just blocking communities that clearly don't interest them. It accomplishes nothing.

Some people who browse All and see these probably thinking it's spam, so instead of blocking the community to curate their own feed, they just downvote.

I'm coming from the "all" feed. When I see a picture that is clearly AI generated, I downvote it.

Now I understand this community is mostly using AI pictures so I'll just block it and be on my way.

That's kind of what I figured. Even for people who like AI images, I'm betting some downvote these because they're not always great as far as images themselves, but the rule is you just put in the lyrics and take what comes out, you can't modify the prompt.

Really innocuous posts from across a bunch of communities. I assume it's just someone browsing all who would prefer to downvote rather than block. It might be something about AI art or some other belief.

I don't play the game, but I like seeing the posts and the guesses.
