It's a difficult medium.

I just wish people used downvotes more sparingly, from all perspectives of the spectrum. Particularly on comments. It's discouraging for everyone.

It isn't. I'm just suggesting that depending on industry, it may or may not change the status quo much.

In my experience they've dropped the hard requirement, but in my industry they still prioritize candidates by degree. So I mean, cool if the industry isn't currently saturated with applicants.

Why?

Mental illness and greed.

My theory is Lemmy is heavily populated by neurodivergent folks, who may have varying expressions of humor, and also may not pick up on certain expressions of humor as easily. This lends to a feeling of "super-seriousness" or aloofness at times.

It just is what it is.

I thought imaginary friends were just something in the movies. Kids actually have them?

Is there an English translation? Also, the design of that site is pure cancer.
