Fuck the live-action show! All it's good for is reminding us how incredible the real show is.
They'll probably make the Guru try to kill Aang before he's immolated on-screen, which the live action showrunners love to do so much.

Yeah, it totally forgot that character development is actually important to tell a great story. I will always choose the OG show over anything.
I don't totally disagree.
But I don't like the general community attitude of putting the original on such a pedestal. It has plenty of problems, especially in Book 1.
ATLA superfans are going to hate every new Avatar entry other than the Gaang movie if it keeps up.
I don't totally disagree with you, too. 😜
Every show is going to have its issues! I still skip The Great Divide most times I go through the series again. But it gets SO many things right. The character development, the music, the depth of the culture and bending styles.
I was cautiously optimistic about the show. I was worried why Brian and Mike left, but the costumes and casting seemed promising. Now, I think that might be why the show stings so much: it looks like TLA, it sounds like TLA, but it doesn't feel like TLA. It's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
Given the live-action record of the property, it's going to be difficult to get fans behind anything. But I would LOVE to have something new and amazing in this world. Hopefully the animated movies can deliver!
Yeah, I just want more content too, and we are (eventually) getting it. And yeah, so much is so special, I could go on and on.
However, in my last rewatch I actually found myself skipping quite a few episodes, specifically around B1 and the beginning of B2 and B3. I don't want to harp on the issues much either, but theres some slowness. immaturity, and a few annoyances that get overlooked because fans think its "perfect," and then they dig out very similar annoyances from NATLA (even if it has more fundamental issues).
And the nostalgia is exactly what I'm talking about. People get too hooked into ATLA, and it sours the rest of the franchise. NATLA should mostly be judged on its own merits, not as a comparison.
????? Theres no way they took all that out wtf
they'll probably turn it into another 5 minute fight scene. the guru starts to talk (boring!) to aang and then after a few moments they're ambushed by the fire nation or something
Don’t worry. Now that Kim has passed the reins of the NATLA show to the dudes who wrote and directed the Omashu episodes, I’m sure they will give the Guru the same treatment they gave King Bumi. ☺️
Aang'll just go on about his insecurities like he does in every episode
Also there's plenty of opportunity for him to hurt Katara in S02
Anyone have the Mandarin dub of the original series? Can't find it anywhere.
There's still time to do that Aang hurting Katara part.
