This is what we're leaning towards. Either cow or pig after looking at some pictures. Just such a weird thing to find in the woods!
These are probably dog treats
Source: used to give them to my big pup when I was a kid :)
They sell them cut like that as dog treats, with the hole packed with food. Probably either dragged out as a treat for some camper's dog or scavenged by wildlife and abandoned when the good stuff was gone.
Definitely looks like a ~~vertebra~~.
Nah it’s a cow leg bone cut like @ChonkyOwlbear said. Vertebra don’t have marrow cavities like that.
I'd put it back.
