...everyone in Springfield is deformed.
Quite possible given the amount of radiation the average Springfielder is likely exposed to. I mean, have you seen the nuclear power plant's safety inspector? Not the sharpest tool in the shed.
Welcome to TheSimpsons, a community for discussing everything related to America's non-prehistoric cartoon family, The Simpsons!
Right about now, you're probably saying, "Troy, basically every post starts with 'Guess the Episode', is that all this community is?"
To which I say you've got some attitude, mister.
But no, any Simpsons content is allowed in this community, although we do ask that you keep the shitposting over in [email protected].
These "Rules" aren't real, so if you think of something clever, do that instead.

Part of the intro involves radioactive material casually bouncing around the town.
Or its because people percive the face and body of a celebrity differently to regular people For a in universe answer
For an out of universe answer it's probably because they want to bring more viewer attention to the cameo to say "hey, this person is not a normal character"
I think it's that it's hard to draw a real person in a way that is identifiable, while also following the style of the simpsons.
The bulbous eyes and rounded features removes the identifiable facial features of the celebrity so they don't do it.
I think it's because the cartoon characters were designed in the 1980s and the celebrities are first appearing in current year. If they have a compelling new character it's usually drawn better than Bart etc. too.
Seriously only Bart, Lisa and Maggie have the where does their head end and hair begin question
Well I mean yeah.
Gee, I hope somebody got fired for that blunder.
