I worked with someone out of my dept for a day. We had some down time so we talked. 2 months later, I vaguely remembered them as they stopped by to drop of paperwork. They said hello and asked how my studies were going and if I'd gotten into the program. It was the best part of my week.

This is why I try to pick 1 thing and associate it with a person. I am stereotypical dad this way. Oh, you like apples? Everything you get is now apple related. Fruit, cook books, art, etc.
