Might wanna angle the short sides' floor toward the center as well, to keep the drainage from collecting along the front wall portions interior. I created a similar design a few years back and learned the hard way just how tenacious soap scum and detritus can be in those nooks. ๐ฑ๐คช

I see these wooden countertops in British home improvement and architecture shows. I've never seen it in the US. They're almost always either composite, stone, or that horrible fiberboard/laminate material.
I'm curious what the upkeep must be like. Do they have to be constantly re-oiled or something? How do you keep them clean?
