My God, she's a beauty. And a near vertical climb is impressive. Granted, I know it's the jet thrusters overcoming stall, but still. Magnificent.
That was right after a 0.9 mach pass down the runway. she was like maybe 20ft off the ground.
You're kidding me. A near vertical ascent?! This was TAKEOFF??
God, the engineering for these things is an absolute marvel. And a takeoff just below the sound barrier, too...
Yep full afterburner down the runway into an immediate vertical climb.
With almost any other type of plane that's a straight-up death wish. The Lightning is something else...
Thrust vectoring is really cool stuff.
