That interview I thought I fucked up? They rang me back lol. Moving to the next stage π€£

Adoption Certificate for Nellie, the Daily Thread numbat (with thanks to @Catfish)
Haha, I had a vague feeling this would happen! Congrats!! Good luck with next steps π€π½
Got called for references for the job I interviewed for, feeling pretty confident I'll snag it π Especially as despite my ex-boss still being a shit from what I hear recently, he was more than supportive on the phone when I gave him a heads up.
If it all goes well the employment checks shouldn't take more than a week or two, it'll mainly be up to the medical provider for the pre-employment medical.
Let sleeping cats lie
Well, I called it. Melbcat has potentially had a reaction to the antibiotic and has definitely got an ear infection and super itchy skin. I've been advised to stop the antibiotic (normally something you should never do) and give her eardrops and transdermal pain relief. They couldn't get urine today so not sure about the UTI situation but if she worsens it's specialist time.
anyone else wake up in the morning and first thing they do is to check the news to make sure the world hasn't ended overnight, hoping for an excuse to not have to get out of bed?
Must feed animals or the furry little drama queens will perish ! Oh the suffering they have endured without food for 8 hours is immeasurable.
Same.
Ted Cat pats me on the face to wake me up if I am too tardy with the food. Bill just stares or yells at me.
No the first thing I do is stretch to make sure everything is still working. Then I let the dog out so he can have a piss.
I canβt understand how weβre going to end up with another Biden v Trump election. And that Trump has a very good chance of winning. Scary stuff.
I don't understand why he's allowed to run again, much less why he's not in jail.
I hate politics especially US but I just don't understand how they (Dems) can think Biden is the best choice now. Surely neither of them are anywhere near the best choices to represent their parties. It seems insane to me.
The dems need someone loud and brash who boasts about all the democrat accomplishments and who brutally puts down republicans
I made rice with nuts, some cucumber raita and garama masala burgers.
Anyone else feel really sleepy at work this morning? I mustn't have slept a wink, the way my body's feeling
Me! Iβm wrecked today, no idea why. Coffeeβs not working either
Fun fact: on September 26, 1983, an officer in the Soviet millitary, Stanislav Petrov made a good decision. He oversaw the early-warning system for the Soviet nuclear arsenal. His warning system's computer signalled that five American missiles were incoming. So he had to make a decision - does he report the missiles to his superiors? If he did, the Soviet military likely would launch a retaliatory nuclear strike.
Petrov decided the reports were false. Thank goodness he did, because 2.5 billion lives were at stake.
!
If you want my future, forget my past
If you wanna get with me, better make it fast
Now don't go wasting my precious time
Get your act together we could be just fine!
I have eaten too much chocolate custard ughhh
-distant screaming: she's gonna blowwww!-
Just woke up from a 14 hour sleep. Fuck lol. And I also have the Snappy Tom song stuck in my head.
Meow.
How good is oyster sauce? The good stuff, especially (I'm still on a bottle of Megachef that's lasted me over a year). Lifts up any tired old vegetable stir fry. The perfect balance of sweet, salt, and savoury ππ½γespecially with a dash of rice wine thrown in. Don't need much else.
I love it. I add it to sauteed mushrooms. Special shout out to hoisin sauce. A fantastic little dipping sauce for all meat delicacies.
Today's preserving report: Lots of mixed berry jam made. I'm not sure at this point if it is going to set well enough, so it may be reclassified as mixed berry sauce before labelling. I ended up not doing the grilled vegetables and made 16 serves of overnight oats for the freezer instead, full of lots of yummy summer fruits.
Can't sleep. Doing that thing where I do the thing I shouldn't do (thinking) because it makes me not be able to do the thing I want to do (sleep)
I've cut up the watermelon. Dinner has been prepared.
Oh wow. 30+ years later, that jungle is absolutely still in there. Does this ad still air?
Partner off to their first day of their new job π₯° so proud of them to get a job in the area of study they did!
Now... What to do with myself for the rest of the day...
Miss Moobeans has already settled down a lot. I should have trusted my gut about that antibiotic when her behaviour changed drastically two doses in.
OK, was it Duenan who said he had a screen shot of Gandalf with his Istari shield? I replayed scenes in both versions of the movies, have looked so close and just can't see it.
This is an artist's impression of the scene from the movie.
I'll have to go back and replay the scene to get a timestamp though.
I think it's the sphere he formed when he said he's a servant of the secret fire etc. From 2:08:04 to 2:08:10 of the theatrical version
I think todays jam making endeavour will be mixed berry. I'll also pencil in doing some grilled vegetables for the freezer (I use them on grilled sandwiches).
So they're doing a Lemmyvision contest for national communities, I'd love it if people here could take a few minutes to look at my recommendation (or suggest your own). I'd like to see us compete just as we do in the real thing.

Also I found out that Adrian Bliss (weird costume guy who does comedy shorts) is coming to Melbourne to perform next month, gonna book some tickets tonight.

Baby girl threw up her morning meds π I managed to get the washable puppy pad under her before she did it so that's easier for me to clean, but she still feels like crap.
If I have a proper posture I have no pain at all any more. I might get another desk chair, I have one of those stylish miller ones but don't use it as it too bulky.
Our Eurovision entry this year is One Milkali (One Blood) by Electric Fields.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH I LOVE IT
It won't win but I love it π
I'm so excited for Eurovision eeeeeeeeeee!
