As much as I hate trump, hilldog was/is such a horrible candidate. I almost did not vote at all in protest between the turd sandwich and the giant douche, but wound up voting hilldog last min. It's the dems own fault they lost to trump, the writing was on the wall.

You're being downvoted, but you're right. It was her election to lose. And her hubris lost it. She had a smear campaign running against her since the 90s so she wasn't going to convince most Republicans, but she hardly campaigned at all to get the moderate, on-the-fencers. They listened to Trump spouting nonsense and empty promises, but it resonated more than her out of touch, elitist campaign. Even her signs were bad! "I'm with Her!". Not "she's with me" or "we're together" or anything unifying. She wanted everyone to fall in line behind her. After all the bad blood from the primaries, get dismissive attitude, the famous "Killer Mike didnt get the message" line... She bungled it. Which is a shame because as unlikeable as she is, she would've been better than Trump. But that's not a good enough reason for people to vote in 2016.

This should be the rallying cry before the next election. It should be splashed across billboards, made into a commercial by Meidas Touch and shown in prime time, and be an ad on Facebook plating as often as the atrocious "HeGetsUs" ads.

These are the consequences of trying to marginalize the most involved and impassioned members of our democracy. FIFY. Anyone who still cries about spoilers is not paying attention and is every bit as Pattison and aloof to their own political wellbeing as red hats.
