This is the comment talking about how you should never buy this game on principle due to the invasive DRM. God I hate spyware.

For a coop pve game too! Ridiculous.

I wonder how invasive such DRM is if you're running it via proton. I'd like to think it's not as bad but I have no idea

They all run in user space. As such, they can barely get a process list.

My best guess is they do absolutely nothing right now.

I noticed that on pc, steam controller can't do mouse emulation. Likewise, steam link and moonlight can't stream mouse input on to the game either. Most likely 'emulated' mouse input is being blocked by the drm. But on steam deck, using the track pad and gyro as mouse has no such issues. I would guess that the drm running in proton does not go deep enough to intercept the emulated mouse and can't block it. If that is true, one might be able to use linux/proton to cheat, rendering the whole point of the rootkit drm useless.

What's the situation with the DRM? I've not heard much of this, but a quick search shows that it's causing a lot of crashes, which isn't super uncommon for a newly-released game.

Kernel level anticheat has access to every corner of your machine. It's basically begging for someone to abuse it internally or someone to hack it externally. Etc..

Wow I was completely unaware that this game had something so invasive. I'm definitely going to have to refund it. This sucks since the game is really fun but that's a deal breaker for me.

I bought it on PC and then saw it had nProtect. Then I refunded it and got it on PS5. Fuck root kit DRM.

Maybe I'm less principled than the rest of you, but regardless of drm or anti-cheat, this game is the most fun I've had with a group of friends. I've found the game playable with a few glitches here and there, but that hasn't prevented me from having a great time.

First time I hear about this game and it's about how everything is broken. Lmao

It's very common for a game that exceeds expectations this much to have server struggles. It's hard to scale up this fast.

That's how i hear about most games sadly. I don't see the food reviews for months.
