The province says it's prohibited a transportation company from operating in B.C. after it was involved in six overpass strikes in three years.

A statement sent a 6 a.m. PT from B.C.'s Transportation Minister Rob Fleming said, in the interest of safety, a formal cancellation notice was issued to Chohan Freight Forwarders Ltd. for its operations in B.C. on Thursday.

A new company with the same corporate structure is probably already set up. Unless you're going to ban owners and management then nothing will change.

100%, new GST number, perhaps registered under his wife's name, and slightly different business name, it will be all up and running again as if nothing ever happened.

Why would he even have to register under someone else's name? It was the company that was banned from operating in BC, not the person.

Technically no, you don't need to put it in someone else's name, but for the sake of least scrutiny by the permitting and licensing arm of the government, a fresh name would speed things up.

Don't worry, we'll be back at busting bridges again starting next week!

If only it was that easy to shirk responsibility for negligence simply by saying "oh you think I'm Janet? That's a totally different person who disappeared yesterday. I'm actually Susan now."
