The us has not real options politically. I am not saying both sides. I am saying you can choose between 2 fucked and way too similarly broken options and there is nothing good to vote, so you vote for the one that isn't quite as hateful but still likes bombing too much and are about as late stage capitalist as the other ones.

It's good you used the BUFF for this meme, because this bullshit has been going on for at least as long as they've been flying.

If you don't want to vote for war, you need to move. America has been at war for all but 15 years of its existence.

Ah, yes, Both Sides(tm) is when there is military action, regardless of the reason.

I think this is pointing out that the US would be aiding the genocide regardless of which party was holding the presidency, which is entirely accurate.

I'm fairly certain, since the title and the depiction are of US military strikes rather than US military aid, that it's in reference to the recent retaliation strikes against Iranian proxies after three American servicemembers were killed.

How many countries are we bombing or supporting through proxy wars right now?

[–] lettruthout 13 points 10 months ago

It looks like the US in involved in quite a few. By this count 23... https://morningstaronline.co.uk/article/w/us-forces-involved-least-23-proxy-wars-across-world-new-documents-reveal

Here's the Wikipedia list of ongoing proxy wars. Quite a few include United States involvement... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_proxy_wars#Ongoing_proxy_wars

Related, the US has something like 750 military bases around the world... https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021/9/10/infographic-us-military-presence-around-the-world-interactive

or supporting through proxy wars right now?

I'm curious - could you elaborate on which countries you think we're "supporting through proxy wars" right now? Feel free to list all the ones you think we're undertaking at the moment.

Me: "Both Sides(tm) is when there is military action, regardless of the reason."

You: "Oh yeah? How many military actions are going on right now?"

No, I don't think I see the need to. You've quite proved my summary of your position as it is.

You realize it's actually a good thing to be critical of our government regardless of which ~~sports team~~ party you belong to, right?

[–] [email protected] 1 points 10 months ago

There is being critical and there is aiding Islamist propaganda.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 10 months ago

Yes, both democrat and republican parties take military action when it supports our imperial interests. It's called the bipartisan consensus on foreign policy.
