I stopped watching Rick and Morty because of the child predator. I had no idea they replaced him in season 7!

After like episode one or two I could no longer tell the difference between the old voices. Either the very subtle differences that existed were ironed out by then or I just stopped noticing them. The replacement voice actors are very, very good.

The VAs are great, but the writing quality seriously tanked in season 7

You were down voted, but I agree that there were some clunkers this season. I did like the episode with the hole in the Denny's bathroom.

They kinda blew their load with the evil Morty ep.

I agree. There were some excellent episodes and some meh ones like usual, but I feel that there were also more than one disappointing ones for the first time.

And season 7 is pretty good.

huh, some episodes of season 7 have a weak rating on imdb. I still want to watch it though, to get a feel of the new voice actor.

I think some people are upset that the voices aren't 100% true to Justin, and maybe some anti-cancel culture typed as well.

There are some weak episodes, and they are REALLY weak, but I think it also has some of the strongest of the entire series. I'd say it's worth a watch.

When anyone says they're anti cancel culture, I always reply "Yeah it was lame when those cancel culture assholes all attacked bud light". Because they definitely are a type.

I bet he's using the sob story of getting fired to slip into more underage girls DMs. I'm all about canceling creeps and rapists.

I stopped watching in season 5, because the story started getting weird and it lost it's charm from earlier seasons.

They found people who imitate the original voices which surprised me a bit because I expected something like they did for Solar Opposites to happen.

What’s this about?

I’m pretty lukewarm on Rick & Morty 🤷🏻‍♂️

Tons of girls on Twitter have come forward sharing sexual DMs sent to them by the voice actor of the main characters. They were young and underaged girls.

He haa also separately been accused by more than one woman of sexual assault, one of which went to trial (this is why he was fired), although the trial ended in his favor due to "lack of evidence".

He was also fired for this..

I feel like this show has run its course.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The reason for the push: Last year’s five-month Writers Guild strike delayed production on the new episodes.

But starting today, the show’s seventh season is now on Max, which means all that Rick and Morty episodes are now on the streamer.

Also, the debut season of spin-off Rick and Morty: The Anime will premiere this year, and Adult Swim has just released the first in-show footage (below) from the project:

“The multiverse-straddling exploits of Rick and the gang pose challenges to the family bond, but they always rise to the occasion,” Sano said in a previous statement.

The news follows the flagship series doing a behind-the-scenes reset for season seven, bringing aboard new voice talent — Ian Cardoni (Rick) and Harry Belden (Morty) — for its two titular characters to replace co-creator Justin Roiland.

So, to keep having that realization that, ‘Yes, this is real, you are playing a character you’ve watched and loved for years and been a huge fan of,’ is indescribable, and brings such joy.”
