How are you liking it so far? It's on my wishlist but I haven't played it yet.
It’s great so far. It reminds me of Fallout 1 and 2 in its appearance. Inventory space is a pain but that makes it more of a challenge I guess.
Ah, I have always find limited inventory space very annoying. Hope rest of the games makes up for it.
I bought the MGS Master Collection last week and played through MGS this weekend. I know the consensus on the collection is quite poor but it was really interesting playing through a PS1 game to see a slice from the console. I didn't have a PS1 and most of my friends had an N64, so I had maybe 10 minutes of exposure to MGS around the time of release, and was too young to appreciate it.
Anyway, I can see why it's so well regarded. The camera work, cinematics and script/voice acting were phenomenal. The music was also a standout element for me that I enjoyed more than any other old game in memory.
I had MGS2 on Xbox but didn't really play it much, so I'm really looking forward to restarting it this week.
The only problem with the collection was it didn't had much improvements from the original, and people were hoping for more upgrades. Otherwise, if you just want to play the original games, collection is pretty good for that.
I can totally understand that -- especially since the regular price is 20EUR/game, or 60EUR for the trilogy+bonus content. It is a steep ask at that price, especially looking at MGS by itself.
I think PS1 graphics are really nostalgic, but having an option to toggle on a cleaner presentation like in the Halo MCC would have been ideal.
I did get it on sale though, so I didn't have a problem looking past the lack of enhancements.
I'm running through Persona 5 Tactica before Granblue Fantasy: Relink and Persona 3 Reloaded drop. My backlog keeps expanding.
How are you liking P5T?
That's what backlog does. I am not even looking at recent games anymore, going to dig back and play some older games this year, the one I have been ignoring for years now.
Its... fine.
The story so far is a bit tooooooo safe and friendly for me. It's not bad and I can see a community that would love the friendly atmosphere but its just not catching me. The music is amazing, I like the art style and the characters have charm. The combat is a bit to repetitive and easy for me. I'm going to finish the game because I LOVE persona but I can't say I would recommend it unless I knew your taste better. There is definitely a crowd for this but sadly, it doesn't look like its me.
What title are you going to grab off the shelf? I was going to grab the Jedi Survivor instead of P5T but with Persona 3 Reloaded around the corner, I wanted to get in the mood. At least that was my reason for pushing P5T to the front of the line.
Well, I want to focus mainly on RPGs (all kinds) and smaller 2D games, leaning more towards Switch than PS.
I am currently playing Paper Mario as my primary game (just finished Sniper Elite 4 last week), but thinking about starting Until Dawn as a secondary game. One of the oldest game in my backlog that I can play on PS5 😀
I think I'm rusty, because The Last of Us 2: No Return on survivor is kicking my ass.
Have Fire Emblem Three Houses as my "during sports commercials" game.
Can you use the gameplay modifiers from the campaign in No Return? I loved playing with the bullet time aiming slowdown.
I only have a PS4, so I'm really counting on a PC release for this, hopefully not too long from now.
I know there's a custom run mode. I don't currently have access to check what you can change.
If I remember I'll try to get a screenshot later.
Looks like I can only upload images for actual posts? Here's screenshots of the mods you can do on No Return.

Prince of Persia and couch-coop Nobody Saves the World.
Just finished Demon's Souls. It was surprisingly easier than I remember when I played the original (never could beat the Maneaters) but then again, I didn't have DS 1-3 experience back then.
Thinking of finally playing FF7R Intermission next before Rebirth comes out but I had a taste of RE2 Remake and I'm more in the mood for that. So many games, so little time.
I finished Demon's Souls Remake last year, and I felt the same way, that it was so much easier than what I remember of the original. It became the first proper "souls-like" that I finished.
Our years of suffering reading attack animations and multi phase bosses really paid off.
Haha, finally!
I gave Prey a chance, and i really liked the story and worldbuilding. Wnded finishing it under a week.
Im finally going to go through Deathloop and Mirrors Edge:Catalyst
I got through to the "real" ending of Returnal (but I haven't started Ascension yet) and I'm now a few hours into TLOU II Remastered.
Have you played TLOU II before or playing it for the first time?
First time playing it! I actually only played TLOU (Part I) late last year and figured I might as well wait a few weeks for the Remaster to release by that point.
Excellent choice. I enjoyed Part II and I will eventually try the No Return and lost levels portion of the remaster but that is low on my priorities.
Yeah, I don't think remaster of such a recent game makes sense, but if you haven't played the game, then playing the remaster is the way to go.
I’ve been replaying Final Fantasy XIII as I hadn’t played it since release, enjoying it more than I did before. I’m trying to get it finished soon though and move on to Final Fantasy VII Remake so I can refamiliarise myself with everything before Rebirth is out.
So, lots of Final Fantasy.
I liked Final Fantasy XIII. I won't call it my favourite, but it was still fun for me. Didn't play any of the expansion / sequels released though.
Working on 100% trophies in The Surge 2. But I think I fucked up cuz I don't know if I can get back to Camp Bravo after the AID explosion to turn in the last quest I had there. 😩
Having finished Lies of P, it’s on to Weird West and Hogwarts Legacy. Sticking with my ps4 pro has been a good move as the backlog has shrunk considerably.
I am on my action RPG fever, so I was playing quite a bit Phantasy Star Portable. And got more into Dynasty Warriors series.
