When Davis first promoted Pierce, who had never been a head coach above the high school level, Davis told ESPN he did not want Pierce to necessarily "coach," so much as "lead" and "delegate."

They didn't hire him to read, they hired him to lead! lol

This may be the popular move. I don't know that it's the right move though.

His relative success just shows that Josh McDaniels was literally doing more damage than good. This hire is gambling on getting a system that's self-sufficient with only high level input from the head coach.

It can work, but not sure if Mark Davis can handle that.
