as an avid user that is saddened by tachiyomi news recently, i feel happy the legacy is getting picked up and continued

FWIW I've migrated from TachiyomiSY and everything seems fine, haven't done extensive testing or anything though

Good to hear. Still haven't found the time to do it since my library is (let me check) 4544 titles strong. πŸ˜… Probably need to be babysitting.

I just imported the TachiyomiSY backup directly, it worked just fine as far as I can tell, no manual intervention necessary! Would never have had the patience to redo it all manually otherwise lol. Oh and that's an impressive library!

I'm in the process of duplicating my current setup on the other phone, then I'll see from there. I have been for far too long in IT not to use test environments before committing to production. 🀣

Fair enough, that's always wise!

This image gives me anxiety. Good luck with any kind of migration! The most I have done so far is I updated my Tachiyomi to the external extensions repo and I downloaded the apk for Mihon, but haven't installed/migrated yet.

Only thing I hope is that the devs have taken steps to avoid making themselves easy targets for Copyright abusers in the future.

Nothing actually happened to take Tachiyomi down. They only got legal threats, which even if they had been warranted, would have cost money that the project doesn't have, to fight.

Yeah that's true but it was still easy for Kakao to find their personal details that allowed for those threats. I'm not saying Kakao actually sued them but keeping their IRL identity hidden would help in avoiding such a situation in the future imo.

Guess it's time to update, so does anyone know how the extensions are going to work with this now? Do we have to manually update them because they're gonna be 3rd party?

Man I kinda hate Kakao...

This app is the same as the latest tachiyomi version. For extensions you need to add an external repo.
