Just assume Windows.
Which means no ability to suspend games.
But it comes with Cortana, and key loggers, and ads!
There will be a dedicated copilot button instead of a start button.
hibernation csn perfectly suspend games and bring them back. I have a ton of windows handhelds, no issues
No
It's not the article's fault, the full details of the device will be announced at CES. It's almost definitely Windows though.
Batterylife= 45 minutes
If that chipset has the same issues my Arc a750 has, don't count on being able to play older games.
Being an XE gpu, it most certainly will.
But Intel seems to be making real strides into older game compatibility with each driver update.. I wonder how your GPU and this handheld could possibly improve with time.
My thoughts exactly, Intel are still trying to break into the gaming market with their graphics, but they have a long history of failing at this.
What does the fan smell like?
Anime Catgirl bath water
Why are there only two handheld PCs with touchpads?
Drivers, probably. Valve did the heavy lifting with the Steam Controller and Steam Input. Other manufacturers don't have a controller abstraction layer they can integrate that into
Sounds impressive, but it means nothing without knowing how much it costs.
Aside from that, the big question mark is how much power it'll use. Even though intel's new chips are way better than the old ones, the 155H still uses a lot more power than AMD. No point in a handheld if it'll get hot quickly and run out of battery in 40 minutes.
This is the first time I’ve seen “Steam deck” used for a non-Valve device. Gaben may have made the next Kleenex or Bandaid
That was OP though. It's not part of the headline of the article.
The same old, tired and stupid control layout and no trackpads. How do you even begin to make a PC handheld and not offer any mouse cursor controls? All the Steam Competitors do is up the specs to stupid numbers and appeal to familiarity. It's both disappointing and something should've expected.
