Noooooo! Never encourage cats to see hands as toys! I've been watching "My Cat From Hell" recently, and so many "vicious" cats have a guardian who thinks roughhousing their cat is a good idea, but can't understand why their cat attacks everyone else. Once they get into a routine of using appropriate toys to play with the cat, suddenly the cat stops attacking everyone else.

My mom's cat has learned that gloves = OK to claw, bare hands = no, improved from just clawing all the time. So, some cats may be able to learn correct context.

Ugh my dad did that with my parents' cat. I absolutely love and adore her and she's a great cat but she doesn't understand that scratching and biting us hurts us.

I'd be worried that using something like that would just encourage the extra spicy behavior, with the cat thinking it's acceptable.

Don't encourage that behavior in your cat. Hands aren't toys. Get cat toys for you and your cat to play with together.

Accept the scritches or don't get stitches. You shouldn't be encouraging playing with hands. Also keep the claws trimmed.

My nephew used to wear his welding gloves and get them real riled up

How feisty? You can search Amazon for "cat handling gloves" and find something that's probably fine for a cat that just gets a little carried away while playing. A lot of them are basically just welding gloves. Some are modified with a little extra material in common bite zones. We have a long haired cat that absolutely hates being groomed. When handled too much she goes into full Pinky mode wherein she will dig in her claws and bite hard enough to cause permanent scarring (I know from experience). Unfortunately she needs regular grooming or she develops terrible matting. So I invested in a set of these: https://armorhandglove.com/

They weren't cheap, but with those, she can bite as hard as she wants and I barely feel it.

they make gloves for handling concertina wire. plain leather should be enough. after a friend died his cats went a little wild. no play

I don't know specific products, but ANSI does puncture resistance certification. You could use those ratings to find something comfortable that isn't snake oil
