It's funny that many small FOSS apps get flak and are hated on because of minor changes to their privacy policy, and then Meta/Facebook basically says they own your entire presence online when you use their app, it's seen as meh.

Just take a look at the samsung apps. They take ALL the permissions they can get! The privacy policy is typically vague, just saying that they kinda collect everything and need anything they can lay their hands on.
