Why does the TTC suck so much in customer service, and what's with the constant delays every single day.

Sometimes going into the office (when I'm stuck between station for 30 minutes in a non-moving train), I wonder how much better it was during covid with a full WFH mandated.

The TTC main complaint those last few years were no one is riding, but now they have ridership and they can't keep up with demand.

TTC is great. You should go to Durham region and try their transit system. Bonus points if you go all the way to Bowmanville and try to get anywhere by bus

I live in Mississauga and they only run the tiny buses on weekends despite the demand clearly being there, since they get packed. And if you want to travel on a Sunday? Forget it. Buses every half hour only and they're always full

Not a great comparison. Toronto is comparable to Berlin, and should have similar level of public transit service.

Yeah, the TTC isn't perfect. But you really appreciate how acceptable it is when you move somewhere else. Living in Ottawa and Dublin made the TTC look like a well oiled machine.

And as stated elsewhere most of the TTC's problems can be pretty directly related to underfunding. Sure, they could probably run a bit more efficiently but that isn't the core problem. With more budget they could do a lot more. Get people off the road, roads moving faster as a result, lower overall transportation costs in the city (roads are more expensive than TTC to maintain) and result in a healthier population (less pollution, noise and encourage more walking around).
