We have the right to travel? But do you have the right to ignore laws that the rest of us have to follow... I believe they honestly feel that's the case.

The whole shtick is covering over insecurity. It's en exercise in being able to do whatever you like whenever you want while never being responsible for your actions. Basically: they know the special magic words that will keep them from ever being wrong.
