Anyone been having trouble when visiting other instances? My other subs don't seem to be updating properly. Lemmy getting too popular.

We have been lucky to join a goldilocks instance.

I think the instances that cater to a niche have been largely spared the fediverse breakdown. ttrpg.network seems to be chugging along fine. Probably wasn't a good idea to attempt to recreate reddit on a single instance. Would've been smarter to have lots of smaller instances catering to broad topics of interest.

It has also kept us out of any of the defederation drama.

I signed up through Lemmy world and there's been lots of issues with some of the apps...(I also signed up through Aussie zone too cos I was confused, but have mainly used the Lemmy world one to comment). I think you're right and it probs has alot to do with the large influx of users... (& I also have 'pending subscriptions...)

I think some instances are overloaded, but they are also using various update levels which could cause problems too.

Mine seem ok, although I have “subsription pending “ on a couple communities for days.

I've found if you just keep hitting the button it eventually sorts itself out and subscribes properly.

Don't you just love it when hammering the servers more fixes things?
