The problem is not that the wrong people keep getting elected, it’s that the elections don’t matter and voters don’t have a say.

Decided to share this article being seen online in some circles. Thoughts on this?

I agree with the title, but not the article.

In my opinion, what we need are numbers and persistence. The government can pull as many strings as it wants, but if enough people care, turn out, demand change, and accept some level of sacrifice to have it... We'd get it. I think it's squarely on us.

I get a little irritated with articles like this because all they do is promote hopelessness and work to ensure we stay powerless.

Are we really okay growing old while accepting we're nothing more than fuel for a machine because it's indifferent to our humanity?
