I have lived here my whole life and I have no idea who the heck this dude is. He's been doing it so long!? What the actual fuck.

I lived in Melbourne for about a decade solid, and have split time between Melbourne and Sydney for over a decade since then, and am also lucky enough not to have encountered him. If he pulls this sexual assault stunt somewhat regularly, why hasn’t he been put away?

Difficult to identify and catch, maybe?

I doubt that he does it when there's police or PSOs around, and he's probably not hanging about afterwards.

It seems like its true, but I don't think alleging crimes on reddit then putting someone through a trial by fire is legal. It's for sure a PSA but it still a bit creepy. For all anyone knows he's stopped doing it. I'm a survivor too and this triggers me to even think about but I don't know. On reddit I'd be downvoted to hell and I seem to have found some here too, this isn't playing devil's advocate I'm specifically talking about the legality. Those using reddit to threaten violence and suggest he suffer violence are not a lot better than him imo.

I don't think the poster is encouraging vigilantism. It's more warning people to be on their guard and not fall for this guy's ploy.

Yeah, but they published a photo of someone without their consent and made allegations against them. Regardless of OP's intent, I don't think a magistrate would see if that way. Sexual assault is a terrible crime and luring people into is completely fucked, I just think doxxing is also fucked and it's also a crime. As we are taught from a young age, two wrongs don't make a right.

Either way, it's nice to be able to discuss things like adults over here without resorting to brigading or threats of violence.

IMO the people who threaten violence are much worse than him. I would consider posts inciting/advocating violence or harrassment to be a clear breach of the community guidelines here.

The guy's weird and has a weird fettish, but tricking people to have them sit on you is something that requires counselling, I don't know that it would even fit the definition of an assault. Maybe there needs to be some sort of social intervention order that can be used for people who don't target a single victim, that can tell someone their actions are unacceptable and if they can't follow it to make it possible to put some sorts of interventions in place.

From what I've read, after he gets someone to sit on him and hold his arms down, he starts kind of grinding his crotch against them. Definitely seems like it would qualify as molestation.

I just hope it doesn't stop people from helping when someone else actually does have an epileptic fit. I've seen it happen a couple of times.

[–] [email protected] 4 points 1 year ago

That is pretty gross.

In regards to actually helping people having a real fit, the appropriate actions for that would be the best way to deal with this guy too - move any dangerous objects away, call 000, and the only reason you would touch them is if they are unconscious after the siezure, in which case you would roll them on their side.
