It's not rotten... It's literally just salted and fermented vegetables, sometimes with seasonings like chilli or garlic powder. It's preserved. The opposite of letting it rot.
And blanket calling vegetables "dirtplants" kinda outs you as someone who never eats veg.
Maybe you get diarrhoea because you're used to only eating chicken dippers and frozen pizzas.

This comment is a perfect example of someone thinking they know something and being as far from correct as they can be. And then the cherry on top is them thinking they’re being witty or intelligent.
If you get diarrhea from eating kimchi, it sounds like you’re either allergic, or you have some intestinal problems.
Also, I like that you call it “dirtplant”, as if other plants we eat don’t grow from the dirt.
They basically just admitted to not eating plants at all which is crazy lol

Fermented foods have been a thing in human cuisine for thousands of years across continents. The fermentation prevents it from rotting, if you understood your chemistry.
Eat a vegetable once in your life.
