I mean… welcome to the internet. It’s not just Reddit, but most social media, and some “news” sites.

I hypothesize that so many bots are being dumped into our internet conversations to make us all sick of their shit and break our internet addiction so we will all go back out and rejoin the real world again.

Nope. Just capitalists and charlatans chasing a quick buck, and state actors enjoying a shit show. The bots are sold for "viral" marketing, or social trolling, or harassment, or any number of tasks that can be accomplished with brainless posting.
