There's currently no straightforward way to migrate your data, about all I've seen is a lemmy_migrate script that can sync your communities between accounts.
That said, if you're feeling limited by the local communities just click the button to switch from local to all and the entire lemmyverse is at your fingertips from your local instance. I've subscribed to communities from ca, ml, dbzer0, kbin, sh.itjust.works and regularly peruse all -- your home instance only becomes an issue if your admins defederated an instance you enjoyed.
