This sub is weird. There's so many things that are posted here that are just normal things that people do. People lose motivation. People get distracted. People get derailed during conversations or activities. Yet, I feel like every single one of these things are co-opted by posters as "this is such a silly adhd thing that I do". No...it's fucking not. Your adhd may make it worse, but literally everyone does this shit. I'm not ragging on people with adhd, my issue is entirely with the quality of the posts here. It makes it look like normal shit that people do sometimes, or even something's that you do when your depressed gets brushed under this "adhd" catch-all. It's so frustrating to read posts from this sub sometimes.
Edit: sorry for being "vulgar". Mods are cool, and took steps to address concerns. +1 to them.
Read rule 1.
Edit: (Guys, no need to report his comment, I will leave it as an example. Thank you for trying to help. <3)
Oh okay. Just accept that any and every normal human emotion and challenge falls conveniently under "adhd struggles" with zero questions or concerns.
I'm not allowed to be frustrated with anything in here as it may harsh your vibes. Got it. Makes fantastic sense.
Those are images for people with ADHD, they're not directed at neurotypicals nor they're supposed to be informative. It's just a place for ADHD people to have fun, relate to each other, and share their struggles and successes. While I agree that some posts may be a miss it doesn't mean that they don't completely belong as ADHD has lots of comorbidities making them relevant here too. If you really think that "so many things that are posted here" are in no way related to ADHD then it just shows your poor understanding of ADHD and it's comorbidities and instead of starting a nice discussion on it you just start a dumb vulglar rant. Why do you think rule 1 had to be implemented?
It wasn't intended to a be a "vulgar" rant.
Just realized you're the mod - you're just trying to add content and keep the page alive. I get it. It's just frustrating seeing some content like this - it's like the equivalent of someone saying they are OCD about being organized and missing the mark of what being OCD actually is.
I mean, doing it over and over again, way more often than healthy people is an ADHD thing. But how the original poster used that term indeed sucks. I will censor it out and swap the image.
Edit: fixed grammar
Lmao fuck off, It's not debilitating for every "normal human."
You're allowed to be frustrated with anything you choose. We just ask that you keep discourse civil and (generally) respectful. Your post wasn't deleted - we're just trying to let you know that you're approaching a boundary which kills the fun for the majority of this sub
Apologies. Just expressing frustration. Didn't intend for it to be "vulgar". Just a little heated.
And that's okay! I can't speak for everybody else here, but I value the ability for everybody to participate in open discourse. Sharing and consuming differing opinions helps to prevent this area from becoming an echo chamber.
We can disagree while remaining cool. That's what's important
