That's a very bizzare question. But, as mentioned on the community. I was a fan of it back in the day, appreciating it's innovative approach to interactive multimedia at a time I was studying that very subject. I think there is still a lot we can learn from it mistakes and all.
Also there's a lot of younger folks still involved with the community, by giving them a place on Lemmy to share, and reminisce I feel will benfit lemmy as a whole.
Ok, so that specific *@ has some long history I'm not aware of. Still raises the question - I thought the point of this type of thing was that you don't have to deal with derelict communities 'run' by absent moderators - you can just go somewhere else? Right? Or am I just being a jerk here.
Well creating a new community on a separate instance whould be a good plan B. For the purposes of making it easy to find for new users and not having dozens of dead communities with the same name it makes more sense to me to just use the one that exist. It would also provide a corner stone of users and post. That is unless somone else already made another community for this elsewhere but nothing came up in my searches for it.
From my understanding based on other post on here this is somthing that can be done by the instance mods. If I ask nicely enough.
