I'd suggest to first directly plug in your GH4 directly to your computer and see if video from the camera/DSLR is detected using Streamlabs, OBS(, and Windows camera app if you're on Windows) after a reset
after using the potential binary state test suggested above it rules out half of the variables in play (I could be wrong as my mind is a bit fatigued atm but I hope this helpsπ)
Unfortunately the GH4 isn't compatible straight up as a webcam. It's oje of theur older models requiring a capture card to use.

It shouldn't have even been that difficult. I shouldn't have to mangle a connector for the thing to work. Fuck mini hdmi
