I finally got the kick I need to go 100% in on Lemmy. I don't know why I am surprised. At one point they said shadow banning was only ever supposed to be used against bots, but reddit doesn't care anymore.

I have been banned twice and shadowed banned many times at reddit. And that was before the spez stuff.

I think it was my states subreddits mods causing me trouble I think.

One time I made a comment on a post about nazis in town and said "Let me get my bat". That got me a permanent ban.

If you can't find your bat let me know. I'm sure I have a spare one somewhere.

I got permabanned for saying that Donald Trump is incapable of testifying in court without incriminating himself.

How did you get banned for that? There's no way that's the whole story.

I used the phrase 'give him enough rope to hang himself'. apparently this is advocating violence, or something, or some trumpy mod got his feelies hurt.

Oh, I see. Reddit is real touchy about calls to violence, and many subs have really dumb bots that trigger on key phrases. "Hang himself" probably did it.

Reddit is real touchy about calls to violence

Yeah but that's a standard phrase that has nothing to do with violence, and that's been around forever.

It has the same meaning as someone who paints themselves into a corner.
