Well, I guess this helps me decide if I want to play the game. I really don't enjoy games with "romance" plots for reasons I can't explain. IRL I'm a romantic fool but I don't like it in my games. Can anyone elaborate on the OP? Is it just nudity (I don't care about nudity) or is it really focused on romantic side plots?

Not really, if characters start to like you, they will sort of ask you out (invite you to a dance etc.), you can decline and it's over. If you accept you can get a bit of romantic bonus content, but you're not missing out on anything essential.

I'm not trying to romance anyone, but generally being friendly with my teammates. I'm about to move to act 2 and only one of the seven companions I'm with has done the video gamey "you were nice to me in the dialogue options and now you're... So special to me... Do you think... 🥺" routine. I turned the character down but still spent a night drinking wine with her at a party, the way I would if a friend I wasn't interested in came onto me IRL, and since then she's shut up about the whole thing as long as I don't open that particular dialogue tree.

the option to be horny is present in a lot of dialogue trees, but so is the option to be murderous or sarcastic or threatening. just don't click the options, it's the core of role-playing.
