It's a glass-half-full, glass-half-empty situation. Both viewpoints are correct. The question is: which is easier? Fixing a broken system or destroying the system and creating a new one?
Raze everything to the ground and start new.
Usually the result of that is something just as bad or even worse.
Which is why we should have never fought the revolution: what we have now is worse
