That is incredibly interesting. Do slime molds usually fruit?

They do, but not in the same sense of "mushrooms." You should totally google it. Some of them are WILD. One of them is iridescent!

Yes, slime molds usually fruit once conditions are right, they generally just go unnoticed since the fruiting structures for most species are 1-5 mm in size.
