Shot at 55mm, f/10, 1/160th, ISO 100.

Last summer, I went over to Lighthouse Park with the intent of getting some shots of the ferry underway. I decided to include the pier, as it and the fishermen add a bit more life to the shot.

Not sure if it would be possible based on the location, but if you could adjust the angle so there is more of a gap between the ferry and the pier. They are both at roughly the same line in the photo and I think it could be more powerful if they were different. Maybe if you were closer to the pier so it came from the bottom corner at a diagonal to the ship?

Also, rule of thirds would be your friend here. Everything is right dead center which is a little boring.

I agree with this take. I feel like the ship and the pier kind of merge into one subject and are kind of crowded together in the frame.
