The researchers found a statistically correlation between peaks in proton density and the occurrence of large earthquakes (those with a magnitude of 5.6 or higher)
They observed a one-day time shift between the peak in proton density and the earthquake occurrence. This suggests that the solar activity MAY trigger or influence seismic events with a slight delay.
