Yesssssssss protest a government building not a random street in Los Angeles. This is the right way to protest. Make them see it.
Oh, where would you have protested? I think outside city hall would have been a good place, especially because the federal building with Sen. Padilla’s office is 2 blocks away.

I would have protested two blocks over then.
They want us to fight with each other, don’t give them what they want. I agree with the direction the protests are moving to. We don’t have a lot of time, so we need to be efficient with the locations.
What are some things that an individual can do when not attending a protest? Someone in another post was mentioning how they had to work and couldn’t attend. I think we should come up with a list of ideas people can pick through. For me, I live in a really blue state, so it’s more difficult to come up with things for solo activities. I have made a few stencils for spray painting messages, but I don’t think that’s really super effective. Most of the people around here would just agree and move on.
Im curious to hear someone’s ideas. I’m not opposed to doing crime, so, don’t hold back. Just no fires, because that could hurt innocent people if they get out of hand.

You think the protest didn’t cover two blocks when thousands of people were there?? It’s okay to not criticize protests you weren’t at and don’t have local knowledge of. You don’t have to say that LA was doing it wrong to say that you liked another protest. It’s fine to just lift something up without putting something else down.
There’s also absolutely no way you’re going to convince me to post about doing crime on the internet, even “hypothetically”, because I’m not a moron.
Show up to your local protests if you can, show up for your community if you can’t. Assume anyone asking you to talk about crimes is a fed.
There is a difference between saying they did it wrong and saying there is opportunity for better.

It's Denver, one of the bluest cities in the country. The audience for this protest is almost exclusively people who already agree with it. Shutting down a random street in L.A. would probably be more impactful.
To be more clear, it’s not that it shouldn’t have happened, it’s just that we need to make every action count as much as we can. A lot of people don’t have the ability to see the cause behind the effect. The forest through the trees. Creating a problem for the average person commuting to work often makes them angry at the people and then they don’t bother to think any harder on the matter. It’s not the protester’s fault, it’s that people are dumb and self centered.
I don’t think the recent LA protest was BAD, I just want to nudge people into considering locations that have more impact on the government.
I want to emphasize to you that I am very much in favor of the protesting. Sometimes meaning gets lost in text. I don’t wish to fight with my brothers.
Likewise, I don't find any fault in your argument and I think we can both agree that efforts should be both focused where they can be most effective and distributed so that as many people as possible can participate.
That said (and this might just be the disillusioned old anarchist in me), I think we passed the point where a scheduled mass protest could be an effective means of influencing the government sometime prior to the 1999 Seattle WTO protests.
Is the Colorado state government filled with MAGA? Otherwise, why not protest in front of the building occupied by the actual people you are trying to get the attention of (i.e. the fucking White House)?
Well, yes that would be much more efficient. However not everyone has the means to make that journey.
I do think a massive protest should “occupy mar-a-lago.” If you’ve looked at the satellite map, it’s just a shitty golf course on a relatively small property.
