Now if only we can get a good, "real", Stargate game.

Before you ask, the creators were threatened into oblivion. You MIGHT be able to find an installer out there somewhere.
Those sound effects!
Thanks for sharing.
I don't think it would be possible to make a tycoon/management game with an official Stargate license. The IP holders would want returns of such a size that would be unrealistic for the tycoon/management game genre. Although Two Point Studios have seen what seems like mainstream success.
I didn't mean a tycoon game. I think a 3rd Person RPG will be the best option, but even a first person shooter can work with good story and mechanics. Or even a 3rd person action / adventure narrative game, something like Uncharted (as in similar genre).
Though, I won't mind a tycoon game either. And if it can have voice acting by the SG-1 cast, that would be super cool too.
That sounds nice but it's owned by a giga corp so if it was created it would be garbage full of micro transitions.
Not necessarily. There are examples of good games based on sci-fi franchises that aren’t riddled with shitty micro transactions. Starship Troopers: Extermination is a good example. It’s a base-building online cooperative FPS, and it’s actually a lot of fun. Surprisingly, even though you almost always play with strangers, (unless you have sixteen friends all ready to play) everyone has pretty good teamwork. I often see small groups sortie out in precise strikes into the bug horde to revive downed team mates.
The fact that this game exists, and is also being made by a smaller dev studio, never ceases to amaze me. This is a franchise that has produced several movies, video games, and related media. You wouldn’t expect the rights to something like this to be given to anyone but a big AAA publisher who can fork out a ton of money.
Yeah, that is why I specifically mentioned "good". I don't want my wish to come true with garbage AAA game 😀
