Well Karl Marx theorized that communism would arise after a long period of social evolution. Therefore they are just socially evolving and not capitalist and somehow not hypocrites.
Don't forget, the development of a capitalist mode of production is only communist if you suppress all semblance of democracy first. Otherwise, it's "Social fascism"
