I'm older, so things may be different now. But this very much feels like an equalizer for the warmth (or lack thereof) of women's clothing. We cannot be expected to both be sexy and warm.

It's not like men's clothing is magically warmer...there's a definite shift in the direction of trying to make men's clothes into paper-thin plastic garbage as well. The gender isn't so relevant when you're wearing shorts and a tank top in sub-freezing weather.
